Plymouth Hope Football Club is the official football club of Plymouth Hope charity.

Plymouth Hope is a Plymouth based charity with aims to promote social inclusion for the public benefit by preventing people from becoming socially excluded; the promotion of racial harmony; advancing education and raising awareness about different racial groups; to promote good relations between persons of different racial groups and community participation in healthy recreation by providing facilities and coaching for the playing of football. The charity also assists its overseas branches using sport as tool for poverty relief in education and health. Find out more about the charity Plymouth Hope.

The football club is rapidly growing with currently one adult team , on-going football sessions for under 18 and under 14 and small sided teams to enter 5 & 6 football tournaments.

Our Football Festival, the official Launch of Refugee Week 2013 is taking place today at the Brickfield sport centre, Madden Road, Devonport Saturday 15th June 2013.

25/08/12 - Adult Team Season 2012/13

The adult team made up of players from over 10 different nationalities has kicked off their third season in the West Devon District League with straight two wins in their first games.Visit the fixtures tab to follow our team performances and results.

Our Football Festival, the official Launch of Refugee Week 2012 is taking place today at the Brickfield sport centre, Madden Road, Devonport
There is free transport provided from the city town centre, a mini bus leaving whimple street, PL1 2DH (by Cafe rouge or th refugee council) . The mini bus is running from 8am and every half hour.

There is no league match this Saturday 3rd December for the Adult team. A training/friendly match will be held instead at Central Park (for direction check maps or give us a call).

13/05/11 - PLYMOUTH HOPE FOOTBALL FESTIVAL 2011 - Sat 18 June

For the second year, we are holding the festival at Brickfield. This year, in partnership with the British Red Cross, the event will kick start the activities of Refugee Week in Plymouth. For all the details, visit the Festival section and download the poster here.

01/04/11 - Away Trip to Southampton
We are planning an away-day and friendly match in Southampton for Saturday 16 April. We will be playing a team from Southampton's CLEAR project - a team who share similar aims, values and objectives as PHFC. A minibus will be hired for the day out, where we will play an 11 a-side friendly match, have some food and time for socialising, and take a look around Southampton's historic centre.
The cost of the trip is £10 and there are limited spaces available. If you are interested in, what will be great day, please get in touch with David F asap to register your interest. More details to follow soon.
23/03/11 - Last Thursday Training at Brickfields
The last Thursday training session at Brickfields Sports Centre will take place this Thursday 24 March from 5:45pm. Details of mid-week training sessions for subsequent weeks to follow.

From Saturday the 2nd April, we are resuming training sessions. Then every Saturday:

About Vestival: Working with community and voluntary organisations Vinvolved aims to create new volunteering opportunities for young people in their local area. The target age group is 16-25 year olds.

We will be entering a team into the Chestnut Cup. This is organised by the Chestnut Appeal that supports men with prostate cancer and their families in Devon and Cornwall.

26/02/11 - PHFC Volunteers Meeting

We are holding a volunteers meeting, including the presentation of the club plans, discussions to launch this year Festival. The club welcome any member and supporter who would like to give more time and be more involve to help. PHFC is sponsoring the Sport Volunteer of the Year category at this year's Plymouth Volunteers Award. The ceremony will take place on 15th June 2011 at Roland Levinsky Building from 6-9pm

We are holding a 'social media' training session for players and supporters to get an account with Facebook and Twitter. In future it will be great for all players to have a Twitter account so that you can receive and send free messages on your phone about training, matches, and other events.

We will set everyone up with a Twitter and Facebook account, including help with sending messages, adding photos, and making sure your privacy settings are complete.

Unfortunately the game Vs All Nations is cancelled as they have had to drop out of the league.
Also the StreetGames 6-a-side at Mayflower centre has been cancelled as well, so our kick about in the park will start earlier.

Due to the severe weather the Brickfield Sport Centre had to call off the tournament. It will now take place in the new year.

ANDY claimed the award this week for some quality finishing and link-up play in the shooting alley. Andy always puts in a shift at training, so it was good to see him getting his just rewards!

16/11/10 - DJ's Player of the Week trophy

This new award has been introduced at Tuesday training sessions for the player who shows high level of effort and an improvement in their play.

This week there were a few contenders, but the award went to FENG - early to training, more confidence and quality in his dribbling, and worked hard for his team. Well done.

11/11/10 - Saturday 13th Nov League Game Cancelled - 6 Aside Tournament Instead!

All pitches are un-playable this weekend, so our league match is cancelled. We are now playing in a 6 aside tournament organised by the Sports Development Unit, this Saturday 13th Nov at the Mayflower Centre: 11:30 - 14:00.
10/11/10 - Training changes: Squad and Open Session
Training sessions have changed for the next few weeks:

Tuesday 3.00 - 5.00 - Central Park - Open session for all players.
Wednesday 8.15 - 9.30 - Brickfields Astroturf - Training for saturday squad.
It is important to arrive on time to these sessions as time is restricted.

28/10/10 - Another award for PHFC
Congratulations to David who has just picked up the prestigious award of 'Young Volunteer of the Year 2010' in Devon. David, once again, was recognised for his huge contribution to not just PHFC, but also his efforts within the wider community of Plymouth.
27/10/10 - Players attend Devon FA Training Course
Ten players attended a training course hosted by the Devon FA at Newton Abbot, to assist registered clubs with their match day preparations. Topics and advice was given on pre-match preparation such as warm-up sessions, team talks, diet, etc.

11/08/10 - First match of the Season is upon us!
The club wants to inform all its members and supporters that Plymouth Hope FC will play its first competitive league match in the Plymouth & West Devon Football League, on 14th August. Please come and support!

03/06/10 - Plymouth Volunteer Awards
Last night, the committee and some of the players joined the rest of the Plymouth Volunteer Community to celebrate the excellent work that takes place. PHFC were delighted to be nominated in the Volunteer Team of the Year category. Although we didn't take the award, we had a great evening and were inspired by the many people who give so much to the community in this great city.
